plectrum|nyc was called upon to provide 3D-Immersive sound systems and related equipment for the event, featuring Genelec 8030 speakers in a Front and Rear Height application on display at the RIOT booth.

The RIOT exhibit demonstrated how a player’s facial expression could be read by sensors, processed by an AI application and used to alter the story line and outcome of an interactive game in real time.

For the occasion the site of the Africa Center on NYC’s Fifth Ave and 110th Street was transformed into an impressive, surreal playground by the design team of Joel Fitzpatrick/Anya Keyser. Aside from the exhibits, visitors could attend expert’s round tables, as well as shows at the VR theater and were treated to sudden theatrical performances.
